The debris that
accumulates in the tracks of the Peri-Pro dental film processor
are precipitates from the solutions- they are not foreign matter.
However, their consistency is too dense for the x-ray film to
break through as the rotating arm continues to push the film along.
The result is that the film "jumps the track".
The ProTracker
is designed to ride the tracks and crush these precipitates which
then fall harmlessly back into their own solutions. There is no
more effort required than to merely remove the grid and drop in
the ProTracker
,
as often as is desired, with no interruption of your developing
schedule.
The condition of
the tracks of each processor is different due to the different
techniques used to clean them. Hopefully the tracks have not been
damaged from the use of anything other than a brush and the soaking
solutions; you must check them first. If any of the tracks has
notches, then the track unit has to be replaced, the ProTracker
is not going to correct that problem.
Before using the
ProTracker
,
remove the cover of the orocessor in order to monitor the action
of its first passage. Make sure the the "driver arms"
are synchronized. Remove the grid, turn on the machine, and drop
in the ProTracker
.
IMPORTANT:
The ProTracker
is fragile -don't drop it!
If there is any hesitancy in its passage, turn off the machine
and gently nudge the ProTracker
,
as it may have encountered an unusually hard deposit on the track(s).
Turn on the machine and continue until the ProTracker
,
has exited the processor .
Repeat this passage
until there is a smooth, undisturbed passage of the ProTracker
.
From this point onward, you may use the ProTracker
in the covered processor as often as you wish, all day long. The
tracks will remain clean and cleared of debris.
