More on the PeriPro

Another reason for lost films is the misalignment of the driver arms- they must be synchronized with the timing gear. Figure 1 shows these arms all horizontal with the bump on the timing gear in Figure 2 at “10 o'clock”- they are synchronized*.

* Sometimes an arm is out of alignment because of a broken gear- replace it.

When an arm is out of alignment (no broken gears), correct it by the following:

“U” pusher arm

1. Remove the snap ring on the arm (a wax spatula is helpful).
2. Lift out the arm enough to disengage it from the inside gear, align it, and     slide it back into the gear.
3. Replace the snap ring.

“L" transfer arm

1. remove the snap ring from gear in back.
2. lift out gear, align arm in front, slide gear back in place.
3. replace the snap ring.

Replacing or aligning the timing gear (Figure 2):

1. Remove the snap ring and slide off the timing gear.
2. Position all arms to be horizontal (Figure 1).
3. Replace the timing gear with the bump at "10 o'clock", be sure the inside
gear fits squarely into the timing gear.
4. Replace the snap ring.
